Denim in Bloom
A bit of denim that chose petals over pockets.
The blue fringe guards the petals like a bodyguard.
Materials

Denim usually turns into pockets and seams. This piece had other ideas and grew petals instead. Its edges stayed tousled, as if it is still deciding whether to comb them. Beads shine across the white like drops of dew that refuse to dry. I embroidered the flower by hand on denim and inlaid the beads. A tiny metal hand has grabbed on at the side, just in case.
