A heart with its edge stitched in two colours, and neither one gives way.
Both threads wanted to be on top.
Materials

Stitched, yet nothing here hides behind the seams. Red and silver lamé take turns along its edge, like two dancers who still haven’t decided who leads. I modelled the heart from clay, painted it and edged it with lamé in two colours. The pink shimmers, and the edges have darkened for character. Down the middle runs a silvery fold, right where hearts keep their secrets.
