Flame Without Ash
The coals retired, but the flame decided to stay.
Her embers no longer burn, they only wink.
Once this lady lived on coal alone and puffed smoke over every shirt. An antique with character. I restored her, and now little lights glow inside where the coals used to be. The fire stayed; it just stopped burning. Orange peeks out through the openings, as if someone inside had lit a candle and is hiding. The shirts can find someone else. These days she blazes just for the fun of it.
